Winnipeg museum to host sensory friendly experiences

The Winnipeg Children’s Museum provides families with an assortment of programming and other learning opportunities, and it has built a day into its December schedule for those that have sensory processing issues.

The museum offers a variety of initiatives for those with sensory processing differences and autism, and it has scheduled its Explore Abilities evening for mid-December. It will be an interactive experience for the kids who take part.

The advice of experts has been used to develop the program, and it will include adjustments to the light and sound levels at the museum. There will be extra-visual signage for the safety of all the guests, and crowds will be kept to a minimum. There will also be physical support, such as braille Brochures, noise-cancelling headphones and specially trained staff on hand. Anyone who is interested will need to submit a registration request well ahead of time.

A brochure printing company will be able to offer a range of informative materials for this sort of activity. These can be sent out to the registered families before they attend the function to help them prepare for such an event.

Winnipeg Children’s Museum will be offering his special evening on December 16th. Those who would like to submit a request to participate can find out more on its website.
