Winnipeg invited to explore local site by moonlight

Snowshoeing through the winter woods can be a special experience, and an excursion ran by the FortWhyte Alive centre is offering the chance to visit a local site in Winnipeg by moonlight.

The Backwards Full Moon Hike has lots to offer nature lovers, even if they have never strapped on a pair of snowshoes, and it will give them a chance to experience FortWhyte Alive in a brand-new way.

Snowshoes will be supplied by the organizers, and after being equipped, the group will be led through the site, looking for Signs of wildlife, such as tracks in the snow, as they hike. With some luck, they may even be able to hear and spot an owl or other wild animal. In the event that there is not enough snow, the group will hike the trails instead, and the event is aimed at those who are 12 years of age and up.

Flyer printing is often utilized to help promote events like this to people who live in the local community.

FortWhyte Alive will be welcoming the public to the Backwards Full Moon Hike on December 29th. The hike will begin at 7:00 pm, and those interested in taking part can purchase tickets online. Tickets for the evening start at $15.00 each for members and $20.00 for non-members.
