Winnipeg course to train heavy equipment operators
Trained tradespeople and equipment operators are in demand, and a Winnipeg course will offer both the knowledge and hand-on experience needed to succeed in the profession.
The Heavy Equipment Operator Course that is on offer at Operating Engineers Training Institute of Manitoba Inc. is intended for anyone who is new to the field. The school is registered with both the Province of Manitoba and Human Resources Development Canada, and there will be 240 hours of instruction.
During the course, the instruction will be divided between 80 hours of in-classroom theory training and 140 hours of hands-on experience. As the school wants to make sure the students learn the latest developments in the field, the program has recently undergone an overhaul and added an additional two days of learning with its newly acquired 2019 D6 Dozer. The students will work with a variety of attachments, and GPS systems will also be included.
A program like this gives the public a way to gain both skills and experience quickly, helping them to get working in their chosen field. Textbooks and other learning materials can be prepared for the occasion by an area printing services company.
The Heavy Equipment Operator Course is scheduled to start on January 11th. The training will take place at the school’s field site, located on Heatherdale Road.
