Winnipeg agricultural event to visit both farms and field

Agriculture is a field that is undergoing a period of rapid change and development, and this will be the focus of a series of “in the field” tours that will be offered in and around Winnipeg this July.

The two-day-long Farm Science Network Tour will bring together farming's scientific and hands-on sides. Farmers, researchers and other interested individuals will be participating, and the plans for the event include both private farm and large field crop tours.

The conference is scheduled to open on Wednesday morning when the group of registrants will meet to board a bus for Crops-a Palooza. Here, they will be able to visit a variety of agriculture related displays and meet with industry professionals. Lunch can be purchased at one of the food trucks, and in mid-afternoon, the participants will head to their hotel in Brandon for supper and a night of networking. The next day will include visits to two farms where the attendees can meet with the owners to discuss their operation.

An event like this can be highly informative, and providing those who register with learning materials ahead of time can help them to be well prepared for the tours. Kits that include promotional Pens, information about each of the stops, and other items can make it easy to do this, and items like these can be sourced form an area Print shop.

This conference, which will make stops in Carberry, Brandon, Portage, and Winnipeg will be held on July 24 and 25. The group will meet at the Fort Gary campus of the University of Manitoba.
