At least three dozen children and their families were recently treated to a holiday breakfast in Winnipeg, complete with a visit from Santa Claus.
The kids, aged six months to 18 years, all had one thing in common; they have all either had heart surgery or are waiting to have it. Together with their parents and siblings, they totalled over 300 and all got a chance to socialize and enjoy breakfast at the Clarion Hotel in Polo Park.
The event, which was hosted by the Circle of Hearts, featured entertainment by Al Simmons and a visit with Santa, who presented each of the children with a gift, donated by the Burns Family Foundation. The hotel helped to organize the event, and the Upper Crust Bakery lent a hand by baking all of the cookies provided to the kids for decorating.
Parents at the breakfast – which is the biggest event of the whole year for the Circle of Hearts – had a chance to talk with others in a similar position.
A morning like this can be a lot of fun for the kids, and can give them a chance to forget about their health issues for a brief time. A banner printing company can help to add to the festive air of the day by printing a big holiday banner, welcoming all the children and their families.
