Red River Exhibition returns to Winnipeg this week

One of the most popular yearly events in Winnipeg, the Red River Exhibition, is returning to the city this weekend.

The Exhibition is part agricultural fair and part carnival. It will involve a range of exhibits showcasing animals such as cattle, sheep and goats. There will also be an Extreme Dogs grooming competition and show and animals of the rainforest will be on view.

Other events taking place during the 10 day festival will include the Red River Extreme Highland Games, a horse show, a lumberjack show, midway rides, a health expo and a shopper's market.

A Creative Arts Extravaganza will see artists competing for cash prizes during the show; entry categories include paintings, drawings, mixed media and sculptures. Free concerts throughout the exhibition will feature such well-known artists as Trooper, Glass Tiger and Colin James. The exhibition will have something to appeal to every member of the family, regardless of age.

It's likely that Winnipeg printing companies have been called upon to help the organizers of the exhibition prepare. This might include providing Banners and Signs to highlight certain areas and Flyers to help advertise the exhibition throughout the community.

The show will take place at Red River Exhibition Park from June 14 - 23. Admission is $13 and free for those aged six and under; the price drops to $5 for tickets purchased before 5:00pm on weekdays. An all-day midway rides pass is $45 per day. For more information, call 204-888-6990.
