Surrey Youth Fest 2012 will take place at the Guildford Recreation Center on September 22 from 4:00 pm - 12:00 am. This is a free series of events for youth aged 10-18.
The festival will feature several local youth bands, skateboard demonstrations, sumo wrestling, BMX demonstrations, plenty of food choices, and many other activities throughout the day. There will also be a teen dance, admitting youngsters between the ages of 13 and 18 and ending at midnight. It will be supervised and only people with a valid ‘Go Card’ will be admitted.
In addition, several colleges and community organizations aimed at youth will be providing information tables, which should be a great help to young people who are deciding whether or not to go to college after high school or to those who want to find out about volunteer opportunities. A free shuttle bus will provide rides from various Surrey community centers to the Guildford Recreation Center. Surrey Youth Fest is the biggest annual event for the young people of the city and has proven to be quite popular in past years.
Colleges will no doubt be working with Surrey printing companies to provide literature at their information tables.
