The ‘Supporting the Reluctant Reader: Multisensory Strategies for Home and in the Classroom’ workshop is being held this February in Surrey. It is a presentation of the Learning Disabilities Association - Fraser South and is supported by Surrey Libraries.
The workshop is aimed at both parents and teachers and it will be led by Rita Pope. Attendees will learn how to help children become more frequent readers and encourage them to enjoy reading. Some of the topics to be discussed will include how to recognize if a child is having difficulty reading, what the brain differences are in children, and how to plan and implement a comprehensive and effective reading program. The discussion will be followed by a question and answer period.
Surrey Stationery printers may have provided some of the printed material that attendees will no doubt be given. This might include printed folders, Booklets, Flyers, and Brochures containing information of programs and services intended for reluctant readers.
The session is being held at the Guildford Library in Surrey on February 7 from 10:30 am - 1:30 pm. Tickets are $10 until January 30 and $15 after, but it should be noted that attendance for this workshop is limited to 24 people, so early booking is recommended.
