Surrey workshop to benefit small businesses

Small retailers make up a significant portion of the city’s business community, and a learning opportunity is being offered in Surrey to help these enterprises reach their full potential.

The ‘Retail 101’ session will cover a variety of subjects that can may be of interest to a small business owner. One of the topics on the agenda for discussion is an overview of the latest trends in the retail industry, and there will be many other areas included as well.

The schedule for the morning starts at 9:00 am, and it will open with a presentation facilitated by PwC Rob Coard. This will be followed by a review of the potential of social media led by Katt Stearns, and then the workshop will be wrapped up with a discussion of best practices and lessons learned, which will be presented by a local small business representative.

The organizers noted that one of the benefits of attending the event will be an opportunity for those who participate to meet and network with one another. A printer can supply high-quality Business Cards for anyone who comes to an event like this to distribute to their new contacts.

This free learning occasion will be held on June 5 in Surrey City Hall. More details about the morning can be obtained by contacting the organizer at econdev@surrey.ca.
