Surrey to host tree planting day at Salmonberry Park

Surrey is a city that is very proud of its urban forest, and a day dedicated to tree planting will help to expand its green canopy.

Salmonberry Park is set to see hundreds of trees planted during its Arbor Day event, and both forest and shade species will be installed. It is one of a series of sessions that will help to make the city a bit more “green” and all help will be appreciated.

The planters will be putting 250 forest trees and 50 shade trees into their new homes, and they will learn how to plant them so they have the best chance for survival. There will also be other activities for the kids as well as live music, and each registered planter will receive a free lunch for as long as supplies last. Everyone should dress appropriately for the weather and the task at hand, and closed toed shoes are highly recommended.

Taking part in a tree planting day or other hands-on environment projects may provide a lot of satisfaction for those who choose to do so. Promotional Pens or other swag to thank them for lending a hand can be supplied area printers.

This chance to be part of a day that will add even more trees to Surrey’s urban forest will be on offer on May 4th. The work will begin at 10:00 am.
