Surrey program to offer fruits and veggies fresh from the farm

When it comes to fresh produce, choosing locally grown fruits and vegetables can make for a tasty decision. Community Supported Agriculture gives members of the public a way to achieve food security in a way that is both sustainable and supportive of local growers.

Surrey’s Freedom Farm has set up a produce box program that will provide families of four with enough fruits, vegetables, and other items for one week. The cost for each of the hampers is $40 for one week’s worth of food, and they will be ready for pickup right at the farm gate.

The operation offering this program noted that the produce will be non-GMO and grown using organic methods. Many of the varieties on offer will be heirloom and chosen for their taste and level of nutrition, and in many cases, the items in the hampers will be going directly from the field to the food box.

As the produce available will range by the date, each will be a little bit different. They can be filled with everything from fruit to edible flowers, vegetables, and other items. Print shops can provide a variety of Promotional Products that can aid in marketing this sort of initiative, and they can also create order Forms, Letterheads, and other printed materials.

Freedom Farm will be offering its produce box program throughout the summer. It is located at 5153 160 Street in Surrey.
