Surrey Festival of Dance showcases the area's top dancers

The Surrey Festival of Dance is bringing some of the region's best competitive dancers to the city as we move into April.

The festival is an amateur dance competition for those aged pre-school to adult. There are categories for ballet, tap and stage, contemporary/modern, jazz, hip hop/street, and international. Approximately 10,000 dancers are expected to take part in the festival and the general public is invited to watch it all. The winners of the categories are chosen by an international jury and prizes include trophies, bursaries, and scholarships.

Those taking part in the festival can also take master classes to help them improve their dance techniques. At the end of the month, the winners will take part in a performance for the public.

This will be an excellent opportunity for those in the public who like dance and wish to see the various types of dance, and also to cheer on their friends and family members who are competing. It will also be a good networking event for the dancers. They will have the chance to learn from each other and to share their secrets with others.

Organizers are probably working with Surrey printing companies to prepare for the festival, which might include investing in services like banner printing and sign printing.

The 47th annual Surrey Festival of Dance will take place at the Surrey Arts Center, Main Stage from April 2 - 30. Tickets are $2 for adults or $1 for children aged five and under. For more information, call 604-501-5566.
