Surrey event to repair broken items

A repair cafe can be an easy way for people to divert waste from landfills, and by bringing new life to old items, it can also be a thrifty experience. One of these events will soon be on offer in Surrey, and everyone is encouraged to discover its benefits for themselves.

A group of community members who have repair expertise will be sharing their skills with the public, and it can be a reason for neighbours to come together to chat over a cup of coffee. The team of “fixers” will be working hard to repair as many items as possible, and while they do, they will teach others how they can do the same.

Those who are interested are invited to drop by and bring along appliances, electronics, toys, clothing, bikes and other items to be repaired. Demonstrations are on the agenda, and at the repair library, attendees can brush up on their home repair skills. Admission is free, and flyer printing services can be a useful tool in promoting this sort of function to the local community.

Those who are interested in having their old items restored and repaired are invited to be part of the Surrey Repair Cafe, which is set to be held on August 9th. It will be on offer at 2916 McBride Ave.
