Surrey to be transformed into winter wonderland

Downtown Surrey will soon be transformed into a huge colourful canvas, and the public will be treated to this display to help kick off the holiday shopping season.

The businesses that call the community’s downtown district home have been invited to show their creative side in the Santa Window Walk, which will add some extra flair to the neighbourhood. The participating establishments will have their front windows decorated with a holiday theme, and prizes will be awarded to the top competitors.

The walk will consist of 21 windows that will be painted and decorated, and the public can visit as many as they wish. They can then upload their photos to social media, and those who do may win one of several prizes up for grabs. These include a scholarship, gift baskets and a coffee machine, and each window photo submitted will earn the individual one entry.

To help this event make have an even greater impact, the organizers have explained that a QR code will be available at each participating business. The public can scan these and use them to make a donation to a local charity. A poster printing company can prepare these sorts of items to display in store windows.

The Surrey Santa Window Walk is scheduled to begin on November 23rd, and it will continue to delight residents until December 13th. More details can be found by visiting the Downtown Surrey BIA website.
