Scuba divers who would like to help the environment will be able to do so when they participate in a Surrey-based cleanup event.
The water of Alouette Lake will benefit from this instalment of the Divers Against Debris program, and it is intended to be a fun event for everyone who takes part. During the dive, the participants will pick up debris and survey the site, and as many hands make light work, all help is welcome. Equipment rentals are available for anyone who needs it, but arrangements for this must be made ahead of time.
Once the task has been completed, the group will be invited to stay and enjoy some snacks and conversation. Everyone who registers for the function is asked to be on site by 9:00am.
Being part of an activity like this gives the diving community a way to give back to the community, and organizing the function can be made easier with support from local Print shops. Such shops can supply Flyers that promote the event and liability waivers, which can all include the organization’s logo design.
This instalment of the Divers Against Debris project will be coming to Alouette Lake on March 21st. More information, along with details about how to register and arrange an equipment rental, can be found on the Ocean Pro Divers website.
