Surrey conference to welcome foster and adoptive parents

There are many ways to build a family, so it’s always worth educating yourself on what these different approaches are. An upcoming Surrey conference may be very helpful to those who chose to adopt or foster a child.

The ‘Adoption and Permanency Through Foster Care’ conference has been scheduled for Surrey Golf Club, and it will feature guest speakers as well as lots of opportunities to learn and connect. Both Fraser Valley Foster Parent Association (FVFPA) members and the general public who are interested are encouraged to participate.

The speakers that will take to the podium for the function include Karen Peters and Heather Toews. There is a fee for registering for the event, however this fee does include a provided lunch. The topics discussed will range from understanding trauma responses and how to address them, to the importance of building family connections and how to do so. The delegates will have opportunities to meet and network with others who have a similar shared experience. The gathering will run throughout the day, beginning at 8:30am.

Attending a regional conference or other learning opportunity may offer a lot of value, and information packages are often distributed during these events. A brochure printing company can supply everything from promotional Pens to pamphlets to include in these items.

The full-day ‘Adoption and Permanency Through Foster Care’ conference will welcome those who RSVP on Wednesday, April 19. Its online listing provides additional details.
