Surrey business owners recognized for performance

The winners of the Surrey Business Excellence Awards were announced at a special ceremony earlier this month.

The Surrey Board of Trade event, which took place at the Sheraton Vancouver Guildford Hotel, was hosted by Pamela Martin, with approximately 400 guests in attendance. It consisted of a dinner in what organizers called the ‘Academy Awards’ style. There was also plenty of time for attendees to exchange Business Cards and make new contacts.

The awards were presented to companies and individuals who have shown leadership, community involvement, and excellent overall performance. Among the awards handed out, there was recognition for New Business of the Year, best Not-for-Profit, and Businessperson of the Year. Special achievement prizes were also given out while the Student Entrepreneur award went to Aaron Li.

Winners were first nominated by their peers and each had a sponsor; members of the Surrey Board of Trade then chose the finalists and the victors.

There are numerous awards events which take place in the business world, and they play an important role in the community. They give people goals to aim for and they reward those who have worked hard to achieve success and help to improve the community in which they live.

Ceremony organizers often work with local printing companies to publicize the names of the winners. This can take the form of Flyers which are distributed to members or the general public.
