Surrey area symposium focuses on animal-to-human diseases

Zoonotic diseases are of concern to both human and animal populations alike. A conference that will be focused on this group of illnesses will be welcoming delegates this November.

The Zoonotic Disease Symposium, which will be held near Surrey, is anticipated to draw delegates form a variety of disciplines, and they will be able to both learn and share their own expertise and best practices. To help make the learning as accessible to as many as possible, it will be available both in person and online, and early registration is strongly encouraged.

Zoonotic diseases are ones than spread from animals to humans. The exact agenda for the conference hasn't yet been set, but in previous years, it has been filled with presentations and remarks from a variety of subject matter experts. With so many stakeholders on site, this sort of event offers many opportunities for the attendees to network with their colleagues, so it can make sense for them to bring along plenty of Business Cards to exchange with the people they meet.

Registration for this free event is now open. The planners explained that there are only a limited number of spaces available, so anyone who has signed up to participate but has found that they will not be able to attend has been asked to let the organizers know as soon as possible. This way, their space can be reallocated.

The 2019 Zoonoses Symposium has been scheduled for November 13th. Additional information about the day can be found on the BC Centre for Disease Control website.
