The British Columbia Printing and Imaging Association, which has its headquarters in Surrey, is investigating whether B.C. printers, such as those that Print digital Business Cards, should be interested in changing the way they conduct apprenticeships in the province. An e-mail sent by the association that included three brief questions was regarded by some as the potential catalyst for a more universal method of both certification and training.
The system of apprenticeship in the province is somewhat disorderly, with the Industrial Training Authority and individual Print shops offering their own style of apprenticeship programs. The Industrial Training Authority’s system of apprenticeship in particular has come in for some criticism by none other than the executive director of the British Columbia Printing and Imaging Association. Her reason for the criticism is because some of the apprenticeship courses at the Industrial Training Authority are rather out of date for the modern printing industry.
The British Columbia Printing and Imaging Association is a trade association which is committed to both advancing, as well as promoting, the interests of the printing industry in British Columbia. It boasts that it offers its members one of the most dynamic partnerships of any such trade association in all of North America. One bonus perk that members of the association receive is also an automatic associate membership in the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters.
Time will tell if all the printers in B.C., such as those who Print digital Business Cards, will move to uniform standards as the Surrey-based British Columbia Printing and Imaging Association envisions.Get a Free Quote for Business Cards Get a Free Quote for Print
