Gaming convention returns to Surrey

The BottosCon is returning to Surrey for the 8th year this November for three days. It is hosted by the North Shore Wargaming Society.

The convention is set to be one long weekend of game playing featuring miniatures.

Participants can either arrange to play with others in advance or can take part in open tournaments. There are expected to be competitions like the ASL West Cost Rumble and the Hunters tonnage tournament, and for games such as Up Front and Wings of Glory.

One popular part of the convention is the game swap, in which those who have finished playing games can introduce them to others while finding a new one to play themselves.

Guests are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to local food banks.

A lot of the planning and advertising of this event is online; however, organizers might decide to work with Surrey Stationery printers to produce a flyer that can be posted in various public buildings where players would go, such as the library.

The BottasCon is taking place at the Vancouver Sheraton Guildford Hotel from November 7th to 9th. A weekend pass is $35 in advance or $40 at the door, while a one-day pass is $25.
