Friends of the Grove to host fundraiser in Surrey

A community group in Newton is inviting residents the local area, and the rest of Surrey as well, to come to an event that they hope will both be fun and a successful fundraiser.

Friends of the Grove will be hosting a cocktail party that will bring together community members for an evening of socializing and enjoying themselves. There will be a display set up by the group, as well as an exhibit that details the history of the area from the City of Surrey Archives. Local artists will be exhibiting their works, and there will be tea, coffee, and canapes served along with a wine tasting. Banners and other decorations for gatherings such as this can be produced by a printing company.

The money raised by the event will be used to help support the Friends of the Grove community group, which has joined neighbors together to spearhead a variety of grassroots initiatives such as a free food garden, Pay With a Poem, and Room to Draw.

Tickets for the evening, which will take place on May 1, have been priced at $28.47 each. The fundraiser will be held at Old Surrey Restaurant, located at 13483 72 Avenue in Surrey. Dress for the event is business casual.
