The Surrey International World Music Marathon is taking place on the last Sunday of September, with all proceeds going to support the area’s branch of the KidSport charity.
Those who want to take part can choose between a full marathon, a half-marathon, or a number of smaller events, including a designated children’s race.
The full marathon can only be entered by those aged 18 and up and the half-marathon is restricted to ages 15 and up. All of those taking part in the Mayor's 5K and Relay events will receive commemorative T-Shirts which have been produced by a local printing company.
Registration packages can be picked up at the Active Living Expo which will be taking place at SFU Surrey from September 27-28.
What sets this marathon apart from others is that there will be various cultural events taking place throughout the course. Each mile will be named after a cultural group and will feature local bands and who will be performing live. There will also be concerts held on the main stage and official merchandise for sale.
Surrey printing companies have likely been helping provide the organizers with such products as Posters and information Brochures.
The Surrey International World Music Marathon will take place on University Drive on September 29 from 6:00am-2:00pm. Fees are $110 for the marathon, $85 for the half-marathon, $45 for the Mayor's 5K and $5 for the Kids Fun Run. Relay fees are $250 for a team of four or $130 for a team of two.
