ESC to treat families to birding opportunity

The Explore Science Club (ESC) provides kids with a range of ways to learn and get active, and during an upcoming activity it has planned, kids will develop an appreciation for the natural world while they are having fun with their families.

ESC will be heading to the Brydon Lagoon, near Surrey, to discover the birds that call the site home. The route followed will be smooth and suitable for strollers and those who require an assistive mobility device, and the organizers will provide each family with a pair of binoculars.

Along with an opportunity to learn about birds, their ecology and how to be a good friend to the avian set, the group will also have an opportunity to view an assortment of items brought in by the facilitator. The kids will all receive a free bag of bird seed so they can treat their feathered friends, and tickets for the outing start at $6.75 for children aged two and up. A special price is available for families.

Hosting an organized nature walk like this gives clubs and organizations an opportunity to introduce themselves to the public. Basic field guides may help them to have an even more enjoyable experience, and these can be ordered from area brochure printing companies

This escorted visit to the birds of Bryden Lagoon will head out at 1:00 pm on March 18th. The registration process can be completed online.
