Dwelling: 3 exhibits about house and home

The Surrey Art Gallery specializes in exhibiting contemporary art produced after 1975. The gallery presents several exhibits of contemporary art throughout the year.

Currently there are three exhibits showing at the gallery which are all about contemporary artistic views of house and home:

Yum Lau: Room

This exhibit features video portraits that



"re-create familiar spaces in varied dimensions and perspectives."




The exhibit will be running at the Surrey Art Gallery until June 4, 2011.

Sitely Premises

This exhibit features works by several artists that shows



"how exterior spaces of the single family detached home became important sites for art production."




Featured artists include Kara Uzelman, Reece Terris and Andrew Dadson. The exhibit runs at the gallery until June 12.

Domestic Lives: works from the permanent collection

This exhibit features ceramics, paintings, prints and photographs. Works were chosen from the permanent collection at the Surrey Art Gallery that



"consider the intimate, artistic, social, and sometimes eccentric relationship people have with their residences."




Featured artists include Doug Biden, Barbara Cole, Connie MacLaren and Alex Morrison. The exhibit runs until June 12.
