Double Earth Day celebration coming to Surrey

There are two events taking place in Surrey this year to mark Earth Day, and both will have lots of activities for families.

The first event, the 4th Party for the Planet, is being held at City Hall Plaza and is presented by the City of Surrey. This popular event attracted over 20,000 visitors last year, and there is set to be musical entertainment provided by artists such as Said the Whale, Andrew Allen, and Dear Rouge, and special appearances by Bobs and Lolo, and Dora the Explorer.

Vendors will be on hand to sell a variety of environmentally friendly products, and community organizations will be providing information on their products and services. There will also be exhibits involving birds of prey.

Also occurring is the Burns Bog Earth Day Pilgrimage. There will be information on how important this peat bog is to the environment, as well as guest speakers, musical performances, and displays from local environmental groups.

Local Print companies may be asked to provide some printed information to be handed out.
