Upcoming festival aims to teach creating with fibers

Fibreswest is returning to Surrey for the seventh year this March and promises to teach the general public all about spinning, weaving, knitting, and other ways in which fiber can be used to create works of art.

There will be lectures from Marie Henry, Jeff Birch and the Spectacled Bear Conservation Society, among others at the two-day event. There are also set to be a number of classes on topics such as Bavarian crochet, knitting and crocheting for beginners, fiber preparation techniques, adding a lace border, and a drop-in class especially for kids about needle felting.

Several vendors from all over the west coast will also be in attendance selling necessary tools, accessories, and knitted products. Vendors paid from $285 up to $550 in order to participate in this show.

To get more attention from attendees of this Surrey event, vendors might invest in banner printing services. A banner may induce more visitors to stop by to make a purchase.

Fibreswest is taking place at the Cloverdale Exhibition Park Grounds Agriplex from March 13th to 14th, from 9:30am - 5:00pm each day. Admission is $8 for adults and $6 for seniors and students. Class fees range from $5 for the needle felting class up to $130 for beginners’ knitting and crochet. To find out more about this upcoming event, call 778-292-1382.
