What's Happening in Surrey, BC…

This summer, Surrey will be getting back to nature thanks to an event series planned for three different local venues.

The city’s Summer Stewardship Series will offer opportunities to both learn about the natural world and offer it a helping hand, and it will open in early July. Registration needs to be completed ahead of time, and the activities are suitable for all ages.

The series will open with a class that will focus on providing care for urban trees, and it is set for Robertson Drive Park. The second instalment will introduce local bats, birds and bugs, including a guided walk to visit a bat box at Godwin Farm Biodiversity Preserve Park. It will wrap up with the Stewardship of Native Plants session at Sullivan Park. Each will have its own start time, and will be offered at no cost to the public.

Workshops and other learning activities may be enjoyed by any age, and organizers can count on being able to order any printed materials they need from area printing services companies. They can provide options at a variety of price points, and can be prepared quickly once a request has been placed.

The Surrey Summer Stewardship Series will begin on July 8th, and additional dates are set for July 30th and August 12th. The city’s website contains the most current information for anyone who is interested.
