The Tree Lighting Festival is returning to Surrey later this month. As part of the event, Mayor Dianne Watts and representatives from the council, along with Frosty and Santa Claus, will unveil the city’s official Christmas tree.
Organizers are thought to have planned many activities for attending families to participate in. This will include musical performances from Victoria Duffield and Good for Grapes. A Michael Bublé tribute act will also entertain revellers. Other attractions include dance exhibitions from local groups, ice carving demonstrations, a Ferris wheel, and food vendors.
There will be plenty of areas at the festival which have been specifically designed for children. These include Storyville, the Candy Cane Theatre, a Rockin' Robin Show, the Road Hockey Zone, Santa's Workshop, and Winterland. Winterland will feature such activities as arts, crafts, and face painting. Families can also take a ride on Santa Sleigh or have their pictures taken with Santa Claus himself.
Everyone who attends will have the chance to pick up a passport which can be stamped at specific areas; those with completed passports are then eligible to win prizes.
Organizers of events such as this often turn to local printing companies to prepare the necessary materials. In the case of the Surrey Tree Lighting Festival, it's possible that banner printing could be used to highlight designated areas.
The Surrey Tree Lighting Festival is taking place at Central City Plaza on November 23 from 12:00-8:00pm. For more information, contact the City of Surrey at 604-591-4011.
