A workshop taking place in Surrey this fall will focus on urban tree canopies and how they can be affected by various diseases such as root rot.
The pathogen Phellinus sulphurascens causes laminated root rot (LRR) and this will be introduced during the session. Its impact on urban trees and those grown for timber will both be included in the discussion, and tickets for the function are now on sale.
This class, which was originally scheduled for the spring, will give foresters and arboriculturalists a greater understanding of LRR and the pathogenic fungi that causes it. They will discover how to detect and manage it in douglas fir and other plantings over the long term, and this will include different land management perspectives.
The agenda includes both classroom and in the field learning, and the day will begin at 9am. Promotional Pens and other materials for workshops such as this can be readily obtained from area Print shops.
Pacific Northwest ISA will be offering this short course on October 29th. It will run from 9am until 4:30pm and will be taking place in the Rotary Field House in South Surrey Athletic Park. Everyone who registers is asked to make sure they bring along a hard hat and appropriate footwear as there will be sections in the day requiring trail walking.Get a Free Quote for Print Get a Free Quote for Pens
