Cheyenne session helps home gardeners

Successful gardening often starts with choosing suitable species and cultivars for a particular location, and a Cheyenne event will equip those who take part with knowledge they can use in their own plantings.

Cheyenne Botanic Gardens will be helping home gardeners determine which fruit and vegetable type are best suited to the growing condoms found in and around the city, and it will have an early morning start. It will be led by Jessica Friss, who is a horticulturist with the Gardens.

As the area has a unique climate, it's not always easy to “get growing”, but taking a seat in the workshop may help. The session will introduce both new varieties as well as those that have been grown successfully for many years at the Cheyenne Horticultural Field Station and by home gardeners. It will provide lots of inspiration, and after the class draws to a close, the attendee will be invited to purchase seeds from the selection that will be made available.

As spring is the season for planting, it's a popular time of the year to hold a seed starting or other horticultural class. Many organizers order Copies of hand-outs from area Print shops as well as promotional Pens and other small items to distribute to the attendees.

The Orangerie at the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens will be the venue for this session focused on growing edible plants. It will take place on March 7th.
