In days gone by, steam powered locomotives helped to expand America, and a Cheyenne celebration will salute this piece of the country’s history.
The Cheyenne Depot Museum and Gift Shop will once again be celebrating with its Depot Days initiative, and everyone will be welcome. It will be two days dedicated to the history of railroads in the USA , and both members and non-members alike are on the guest list.
The public will be able to view the Big Boy 4014 locomotive in the Union Pacific Steam Shop, and the Depot Museum will also be open to visitors. There will be Harry Brunk's UC&N and other model railway setups to enjoy, and trolley rides from the Depot to the UP Steam Shop and Roundhouse will be running throughout both days. A members only reception has been planned for the Saturday night, and there will be lots of their fun to be had.
Museums and other historical venues provide a way to learn about the past, and they often host special events throughout the year. These may be fundraisers, and a local printing services company will be happy to help make sure an activity is a success.
This year’s Depot Days is on the way for August 15th and16th. Tickets can be purchased in advance through its website, which will also be the place to check for its most current details.
