A group with a special story and exciting sound will be taking the stage in mid-April. The show is sure to engage South Charleston residents.
Old Crow Medicine Show started just over two decades ago with a group of friends traveling to Canada. These pals worked in a unique way as they traveled, constantly working with local talent from the places they visited. This led them to develop a blended sound of many genres and localities. Members have changed many times over the years, with the current line-up featuring Cory Younts, Mason Via, Ketch Secor, Mike Harris, Morgan Jahnig, and Jerry Pentecost. With a pair of Grammy Awards and a spot in the Grand Ole Opry to their name, OCMS has continually entertained audiences and critics alike. Some of the songs the band has in their repertoire are “Wagon Wheel,” “Mary’s Kitchen,” “Firewater,” and “Fall on My Knees.”
The event will take place at the Charleston venue, the Clay Center. Tickets for the show cost between $32.50 and $82.50, with discounts available for those who have a membership with the venue. Details on this and ticket access can be found using the Clay Center website. Merchandise using a graphic design relating to the talent and their records is often sold at concerts. For this event, OCMS will have some help from their special guest Roger L. Nicholson.
The performance is set to run from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm on April 19.
