Many runners here in South Charleston will be heading over to the Children's Therapy Clinic's 8th Annual Light the Way 5k coming toward the end of November.
Runners will get the chance to see the lights in Coonskin Park before it opens to the public. The venue will feature caroling, hot chocolate and contests for best costume, ugliest sweater and most creative team theme.
Participants are encouraged raise money for the Children's Therapy Clinic and the one who raises the most will receive a special prize.
The Children's Therapy Clinic, located in Charleston, is a non-profit, private organization providing comprehensive therapy to disabled children.
Registration will be $35 and those who register before November 4th will be guaranteed racing T-Shirts sporting the event's graphic design. All entrants will receive race lights.
The 5k run will be timed while the 5k walk will not.
Race packets will be available on Thursday, November 21st from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm at the Sam Bowling conference room and at City National Bank in Charleston.
Packets may also be picked up and late registration will be available at the Columbia Shelter beginning at 4:30 pm on race day.
Children's Therapy Clinic 's 8th Annual Light the Way 5k will take place in Coonskin Park, 375 Henry C Hoppy Shores Drive, Charleston, Friday, November 22nd from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
