The South Charleston Convention and Visitors Bureau will be presenting its annual Summerfest over four days in mid-August.
The event will feature a drone show at 10:00 pm on the Friday, free concerts each evening, and a car show on the Saturday. Festivalgoers can enjoy food from local vendors, free sno-cones, dancing contests, two bands each night, and a kids' zone.
On Wednesday evening, Mother's Nature Band and the Josh Folmsbee and the Crooked Roots will start the concert series. Thursday evening’s concert lineup will be The Danley Band and the Legacy Motown Review, and on Friday night the crowd will get to enjoy the Velvet Brothers and 7 Bridges. On Saturday, the last evening of the festival, Non Friction and the Rick K. Road Trip will take the stage. All concerts will begin at 6:00 pm.
One highly anticipated event at the festival will be the South Charleston Summerfest Car Show which will be on the Saturday from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. Every 30 minutes, $100 will be given away to participants.
Car owners may register their vehicles for $1. Registration will include one free T-shirt sporting the show's graphic design.
A fireworks display will close the event at 10:00 pm on the Saturday evening. Stationery printers often use photos of fireworks on their summer cards.
South Charleston will have this year's Summerfest from August 14 through 17 from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm at Around the Mound, 7th Avenue and D Streets.
