South Charleston will certainly have its share of holiday fun with a tree lighting ceremony, two concerts, and a Christmas Parade.
The South Charleston Christmas Tree Lighting is set to return this year. There will be plenty of chocolate, candy canes and cookies, photo opportunities with Rudolf, Frosty and Santa, and holiday music provided by a local band.
This event will take place at the Mound, 301 7th Avenue, at 7th Avenue and “D” Street, Friday, December 1. The start time is scheduled for 5:30pm, and will come to a close around 7:00pm. Admission will be free, and the tree will be lit at 6:00pm.
Everyone in town will want to welcome Santa for the holiday season at the finale of the two-hour-long South Charleston Christmas Parade, which will be held the day after, beginning at noon. However, parade participants will be lining up at 11:00am on 1st Avenue and E Streets. The procession will travel down D Street and end at the Mound. The parade will take place December 2, and admission will be free.
Stationery printers often use pictures of Santa’s arrival as subjects for their Christmas cards and holiday note card sets.
The South Charleston High School Choir and the Charleston Metro Band will be giving free Christmas Concerts on Thursday, December 7, beginning at 7:00pm and December 14, beginning at 8:00pm. The location can be found at the Labelle Theater, 311 D Street.Get a Free Quote for Stationery
