West Virginia is proud to be home to a network of small agricultural operations, and the families and others who own these farms have been offered seats or an annual learning opportunity.
The West Virginia University Extension Service provides a diverse range of supports to the state's agricultural sector, and it is about to welcome the return of its South Charleston area Small Farm Conference. As in previous years, its agenda has been built around topics its organizers feel will be the most useful to the delegates, and at least 100 sessions are on offer to choose from.
The four-day event is intended to ensure that small farms are able to turn a profit with sustainable practices and feeding communities being the watchword for the gathering. Delegates will be introduced to some of the latest trends in the field, and the sales and retail marketing side of the equation will be addressed as well.
Those who are new to farming and have not attended the conference before may qualify for a scholarship that will cover the registration fees. Promotional Pens and other swag for a symposium will be on offer at area printers.
The 2023 Small Farm Conference will be showing some love to the state’s small farming operations from February 22 to February 25. The Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center will be providing space for the occasion.
