The South Charleston Chamber of Commerce wants to help community members keep secure, and to help make that happen, it is helping to host a shred-a-thon.
The Chamber has chosen to sponsor a Community Shred and E-Cycle, which is being offered by the Better Business Bureau. It will begin in the morning and wrap up in the early afternoon, and the items will be destroyed on site.
The shredder will be able to handle a variety of documents, and everyone is invited to bring along any paperwork that has identifying information on it. There will also be an opportunity for those who have e-waste to drop it off for proper disposal, and in the release prepared for the activity, the host explained that only flatscreen monitors will be accepted. The function will be free of charge and take place in the parking lot of the South Charleston Memorial Ice Arena.
Chambers of commerce support both their business and general community, and a poster printing company may prove to be a useful partner to the groups in promoting their events to the public.
The Community Shred and E-Cycle event will be playing a role in helping to keep personal information safe on April 30. People are welcome to begin arriving with items for disposal at 9:00 am, and the last box or bag will be accepted at 1:00 pm.
