The South Charleston Santa Christmas Parade has become a holiday tradition for people in the local area, and plans are under way for it to make its return for 2019. Businesses, community groups and anyone else who would like to get involved are welcome to come on board, and one way they can do so is to participate in person.
The parade, which has been televised in previous years, includes marching bands, floats and the area’s military members and their families will also be represented. It will follow D street, and it can be a great way for an establishment to show its community spirit.
One the day of the parade, the participants are asked to be on 1st Avenue between 11:00 am and 11:30 pm for line up, and once everyone is in place, it will be time to head out. The organizers made a request that candy and Promotional Products not be thrown into the crowd, but they went onto say that the participants are welcomed to have a walker hand these out to the children along the route.
Anyone who submits an application to participate will have it reviewed by the Parade Committee, which reserves the right to reject any entry. They explained that, as the event is family friendly, the entries shouldn’t be controversial.
This year’s South Charleston Christmas Parade will be spreading holiday cheer on December 7th. It will begin at 12:00 pm.
