A pair of iconic music groups will be performing together again this year, and a concert scheduled for next month will give South Charleston residents the opportunity for to see these bands live.
The band Toto originated in the 1970s, and is still touring today. The members are passionate about keeping up the group’s legacy, while also opening the doors of the fandom to new generations. The last decade has seen a huge jump in popularity for the group, with streams of their tunes rising to nearly five billion when looking across platforms. Their biggest song, “Africa,” is also platinum eight times over, a statistic certified by the Recording Industry Association of America.
Journey has also been going strong since the 1970s. Today, only one of the original members is still with the band, but the trio is a powerhouse all the same. The band has an extensive list of accomplishments, and this year marks their 50th anniversary, with many more likely to come. Among the top recognizable songs for Journey are “Don’t Stop Believin’,” “Faithfully,” “Any Way You Want It,” and “Open Arms.”
