Community Music Live, an organization that presents concerts near South Charleston, will present its final performance this month.

The group has existed for more than 80 years, but according to the WV Gazette, changing tastes and increased competition have made it more and more difficult for it to attract an audience, leading to financial difficulties in recent years. Once known as the Charleston Community Music Association, the group changed its name in 2014. With the name change came a schedule change, as it sought to put on performances that appealed to a wider audience.

In its heyday, the organization presented concerts featuring well-known acts, such as Judy Collins and Luciano Pavarotti.

The decision to end the organization was made by the group's board of directors. It issued a press release, which stated that a "reduced available market for ticket sales and increased competition" has made it challenging for the organization to "continue to present the high quality entertainment [it] has historically provided."

Galleria Seasons, a string quartet from Las Vegas, will be the group's final show. The quarter puts a spin on classical music, as it features a live painter, who produces two new canvases at each concert.
