Two major events will be coming to Watertown in the next couple of months.
The Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce will be celebrating its 100th anniversary with a community celebration to mark this milestone. Part of the celebration will include a Crafts and Vendor Fair. The Chamber is looking for artisan vendors of food items, woodworking, décor, and jewelry, among others. The cost for a spot measuring 10 feet by 10 feet is $50. This event will be held on Saturday, June 26.
Such celebrations are often promoted throughout a city with banner printing.
The Fourth of July Parade will also be returning to Watertown. The theme for this year’s parade will be “Bold Stripes, Bright Stars, Brave Hearts.” It will begin at Water and Main Streets, travel along Fourth Street, and turn on Labaree Street so that it can end at Riverside Park. The entire parade route is two miles long.
The parade is expected to feature servicemen and servicewomen, clowns, horses, and jugglers. Also planned are colorful floats; dance, religious, and school groups; politicians, and marching bands. Over 100 participants are expected.
The parade committee is now accepting applications for floats and other entries. It is also looking for volunteers to work on the day of the parade, and sponsorships of those who are participating. The parade will take place on Sunday, July 4 beginning at 10:00 am.
