Watertown to host family puzzle contests

This month, the Watertown Department of Parks and Recreation will be hosting two sessions of its Family Puzzle Contest: Home Edition.

The first session consists of a puzzle with 500 pieces. Those who will be participating in this puzzle will receive it at their homes before the evening of the start of the contest. Families working on the puzzle are to take pictures of themselves while working on the puzzle. When families finish, they will send a picture of the timing device with the time of completion and the completed puzzle to the Parks Department. Also to be sent in are pictures of the family participants and the completed puzzle so they can be displayed on social media. The second puzzle will consist of 1,000 pieces and will also be dropped off at participating homes before the evening of the start of the event.

A fee of $20 is required for city residents and $30 for nonresidents. Flyer printing is often used to promote such family-friendly events throughout a city.

The first puzzle contest will run from Thursday, January 28 through Sunday, January 31. Monday, February 1 is the deadline for submission of pictures with completion times. The second puzzle contest will run from Thursday, February 18 through Sunday, February 21. Monday, February 22 is the deadline for submission of pictures with completion times.
