In a recent analysis by Livability.com, Madison, Wisconsin was ranked #1 in the Top 100 Best Places to Live in the U.S.
This is the second year that Livability.com has put out the list. To determine rankings, eight criteria are evaluated, including healthcare, social and civic capital, education and economics.
Cities that place high on lists like this often visit Print companies to create Brochures and other printed materials that feature their ranking. Businesses based out of Madison, or nearby Watertown, might use this information to help them attract competitive employees.
Of the eight criteria on which cities were judged, Madison’s highest score was in the housing category, according to the Wisconsin Gazette. Deb Archer, CEO and president of the Greater Madison Convention and Visitors’ Bureau, told the Gazette that this win was good news for the city. She said the key assets of the city made the win well deserved and exciting.
Livability commended Madison for being both a college town and one offering affordable housing, excellent healthcare, and a wide range of entertainment options.
The rest of the top 10 ranked cities included three in California, and Rochester, Minnesota came in second. No other Wisconsin locations made the list.
