Holiday shopping comes to Watertown

A Holiday Shoppe is being held by St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Watertown this month and next.

Among the items for sale are peach, cherry, and apple pies; holiday flower arrangements and swag; a variety of jams and jellies; and pickles and relish. Custom orders for holiday arrangements are also available, as well as hand-made soaps. A special for pickup this weekend is the sale of fresh baked sourdough, cinnamon, and cheese bread, also with rosettes and lefse (Norwegian flatbread). All orders are on a first-come, first-serve basis. Print shops are often hired to create order Forms for such special holiday shopping events.

The Holiday Shoppe is open every Saturday from 10:00 am until noon through December 19. Orders placed ahead of time can be picked up at the Shoppe during those hours, or arrangements can be made for in-person shopping.

Mary’s Room at St. Paul’s, which supports the health and wellness of infants and young children, is also distributing diapers at the entrance to the church in Spring Street.

Mary’s Room is also looking to expand its resources with a room of computers for both mothers and fathers to use to look for education or employment resources. It is also planning to have self-help groups to assist those who have experienced trauma, which can have an adverse effect on employment, education, and parenting.
