The vehicle for this year will be a 2010 Ford Escape. The vehicle is reliable, has been completed repaired, and has passed inspection. Bumper to Bumper donated the requisite parts and Five Star Detailing detailed the vehicle.
Owner of Northside Auto, John Mason, said that the recipient will have a safe and reliable vehicle. It will be vehicle that will be inexpensive to insure with parts and service readily available. He added that it should not place a financial burden on the recipient and will be an:
“awesome car for someone.”
Mason said that the dealership is looking to give it to someone who cares for others, demonstrates selflessness, needs transportation, and is not looking for a handout. He said this would be a person who puts the needs of others first and so would not be someone who would nominate themselves.
Poster printing is often used to promote and advertise such giveaways and provide more details about the nomination process. The deadline for nominations is Wednesday September 2.
The car will be awarded to a member of the community on Friday September 11 at Northside Auto and be sold to that person for $1.00.
