The holidays kick off in Watertown this month with a day of activities for all.
The action-packed day will start off with the Christmas Parade of Lights, which will travel down Main Street. It will feature all of the regular attractions like marching bands, choirs, floats, with Santa being the guest of honor.
After the parade, guests can pay a visit to Santa's house, where the kids can tell him what they would like and will be able to pose for pictures with him. This event is hosted by the Park and Recreation Department, which is also the location of the community Christmas tree.
The day of these events is also Small Business Saturday, so people who come downtown for the parade and to visit Santa can take the opportunity to shop at their local stores. This is a nationwide event held every year after Thanksgiving to counteract Black Friday sales from national retailers.
Marching groups in a parade, or float decorators, often hold a banner to let spectators know who they are. It is likely that Watertown banner printing companies would be the ones to provide that product.
