Two upcoming races go virtual

Both the Chasing Cupid 5K in February and the Lucky Dash 5k in March are to take a virtual twist this year.

This means the participants can choose their own locations, times, and method of running or walking. Madison area runners will then have the rest of the month to complete their distances.

Fitchburg will be hosting the Chasing Cupid 5K. Swag includes a digital bib, pink dry-fit/moisture-wicking long-sleeve shirts sporting this year’s graphic design, and a box of confectioners’ candy hearts. Swag items will be shipped after registration. Runners can sign up for $25 until February 28, and times can be submitted on the event’s website.

On March 1, McFarland will be putting its Lucky Dash 5k online. This virtual event will be a run/walk that can be completed any time during the month. Carrying a St. Patrick’s Day theme, swag will include a Lucky Dash 5K finisher medal, Irish green Lucky Dash long-sleeve shirt sporting a pot-of-gold graphic design, digital bib, and chocolate coins.

Registration for the Lucky Dash 5k will be $30 and participants that refer five or more friends get their money refunded. The runner that gets the most friends to sign up will win $150. Registration will begin February 22.

Runners may submit their running times on the Lucky Dash 5K website. Results may be submitted until Wednesday, March 31.
