Madison's 2026 Winter Carnival will be coming for three days in early February.
On the first day, the schedule will include learning to skate on the lake, floor curling, a Rock n' Roll Decades Skate Night, and Star of the Show will have Wisconsin Singers Season 58.
Friday morning will have a pancake breakfast and a hot chocolate stand. That afternoon will feature a Lady Liberty ice installation, Red Bull Light the Lamp (a blend of mini-golf and hockey), ice fishing, and a Grounding-on-the-Go Kit workshop. There will be a music performance by WUD, and the Mario and Sonic Tournament and floor curling will continue from Thursday. The Hoofer Sailing Club will host their annual Snow Ball that evening.
Saturday will include a Whitewater Kayak Ice Pulley Challenge, Rail Jam, Ice Climbing, Snow Fortnite (snow fort building) and carriage rides. The Wisconsin Union will have a chili cook-off, guests may make maple taffy in the snow, and Wheelhouse Studios will host a Winter Wonderlands where guests will build winter characters from mixed media. Entertainment will include Disney Skate Night, fireworks, ALPS Secret Agent, a Wisconsin Union Directorate performance, and Games Olympic-style Showcase.
The 2026 Winter Carnival will take place February 5th, 6th and 7th on Lake Mendota Terrace and at the University of Wisconsin's Memorial Union.
