The Madison Marathon will be coming in early November.
As in other years, there will also be a half marathon and a 10k race. Prize money and awards will be given for the full and half marathon, and awards for the 10k.
The full and half marathons are open to anyone 12 years or older, and the 10k is open to anyone 10 years or older. Everyone who wishes to participate in any of the three races must register beforehand and abide by the rules established by organizers from Madison Festivals. Upon registration, runners will receive packets containing a runner's bib, t-shirt, information about the race they will be running along with sponsor and other related materials.
Sponsors that contribute to race packets often include updated Business Cards or Flyers.
The courses for all three races will be clearly marked and only those participating in the races will be allowed on the courses. Areas designated for spectators next to the courses will be clearly marked as well. Also, parking and restrooms will be made available for use both by runners and spectators. Vendors will be on hand selling merchandise related to the races along with food and drinks. And as always, the event organizers are looking for volunteers to help the races run smoothly.
The Madison Marathon will be run this year on Sunday, November 9th, at Capitol Square. The Full and half marathons will begin at 7:00 am with the 10k starting at 7:20 am.
