Madison Festivals will be bringing its 40th Annual Taste of Madison back to Capitol Square in early September. Over 275,000 people are expected to attend.
Presented by Starion Bank, the free two-day fundraising event will feature over 80 restaurants, 26 drink stands, and more than 35 musical performances live on three stages.
Fans of event headliners (such as Conner Smith, Nonpoint, and Daughtry at this one) often buy merchandise featuring the entertainers’ graphic design or Logo Design beforehand and wear it at the concerts.
Over 200 food items will be available for sale and will be priced from $1 to $5. Each will be six ounces or less while smoothies will be 12 ounces or less. Some food offerings will be corn dogs, funnel cakes, mini donuts, chicken wings, soft pretzels, sliders, fish tacos, empanadas, and arepas. Food vendors will be accepting both credit and cash, but beverage stands will accept debit or credit cards only.
Winners of “Best Of” categories will be determined by a committee of 50 judges, and the “Best of Taste” will be voted on by those attending the event.
More than 30 local charitable organizations and non-profits will receive a portion of the proceeds. This usually amounts to over $60,000 each year.
The 40th Taste of Madison will take place Saturday, September 3 from 2:00 pm to 8:30 pm and Sunday, September 4 from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm on Capitol Square in downtown Madison.
